PRIVACY POLICY
Privacy Policy.
The short version.
Friction-Free Press collects only what's needed to deliver the things you've asked for — primarily your email address, if you sign up for the newsletter or one of the free PDFs. That data is stored at MailerLite (our email service provider) and is never sold, traded, or shared with advertisers. You can delete your data at any time by replying to any email or emailing hello@aifrictionfree.com.
That's the policy. The rest of this page is the detail.
1. Who we are.
Friction-Free Press is the publishing imprint behind AI Friction-Free by Marin Veld. Contact: hello@aifrictionfree.com. The author writes under a pen name. The publisher is a US-based entity. For privacy-related inquiries, use the contact email above.
2. What we collect.
- Your email address, if you sign up for the newsletter, the Free Visual Guide, or the Free Prompt Vault. We may also collect your first name if you choose to provide it during signup.
- Anonymous site analytics (page views, referral source, country-level location) via standard web analytics. We do not collect or store personally identifiable information through analytics.
- Replies to our emails, which include whatever you write in your reply.
- Order data from Amazon, if you buy the book. Amazon does not share your email address or contact info with us as the publisher; we only see aggregate sales reports.
3. Why we collect it.
- Email address: To deliver the free PDFs you requested, send the newsletter you subscribed to, and reply to questions you write to us.
- Site analytics: To understand which pages are useful and which aren't, and to fix things that don't work. We don't use analytics for advertising.
- Email replies: To answer your questions and reference past conversations if you write to us again.
- Order data: To fulfill purchases and provide buyer-specific content.
4. Who we share it with.
- MailerLite is our email service provider. They store your email address and send our emails on our behalf. MailerLite's privacy policy is at mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Substack (if you subscribe via Substack rather than our site) stores your email address per its own privacy policy.
- Web hosting (Cloudflare Pages) — standard infrastructure provider, no access to personal data beyond serving site traffic.
We do not sell, trade, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party. We do not run retargeting ads on our content.
5. How long we keep it.
- Newsletter subscribers: Until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribe is one click in any email.
- Email replies: Indefinitely, unless you ask us to delete them.
- Site analytics: Aggregated indefinitely (no personally identifiable data is stored).
- Order data: Per Amazon's retention policies; we retain transaction records as required for tax compliance (typically 7 years in the US).
6. Your rights.
You can:
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. One click in any email. We do not require a reason and we do not send follow-up "are you sure?" emails.
- Request deletion of your data. Email hello@aifrictionfree.com with the subject "Delete my data." We will delete your email address from MailerLite and our records within 30 days.
- Request a copy of your data. Email the same address. We'll respond within 30 days with whatever we have associated with your email address.
- Opt out of analytics. Use your browser's "Do Not Track" setting or a standard ad blocker; we honor both.
If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK-GDPR, or CCPA. We extend those same rights to all visitors regardless of jurisdiction, because that's the simpler policy.
7. Cookies.
We use minimal cookies — only what's required for site functionality and anonymous analytics. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies. If you have cookies disabled in your browser, the site still works.
8. Children.
Our content is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). If you believe a child has signed up, email hello@aifrictionfree.com and we will delete the data.
9. Affiliate disclosure.
Some links on aifrictionfree.com are affiliate links — meaning if you click through and sign up for a paid service, we may receive a small commission at no cost to you. Affiliate links are disclosed adjacent to each link. The presence of an affiliate link does not affect our editorial recommendations; we only link to tools and services we actually use and would recommend without the affiliate program.
10. Changes to this policy.
If we update this policy, the "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the change. Material changes will also be announced in the newsletter. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance.
11. Contact.
Privacy questions, data deletion requests, or anything else related to this policy: hello@aifrictionfree.com.
